Thank you all so much for your continual prayers and support. Peter and I made it back to Ukraine last night after spending almost two weeks in Germany and Poland visiting family and gathering humanitarian aid.

Our first stop was in Germany. We were able to spend a few days with my (Irina’s) family. I can’t even begin to describe the joy and different emotions I experienced. Since the war started, my family has had to scatter all over the world. Exactly half of my brothers and sisters are currently in Germany as well as my mom. While in Germany, we sent off one of my sisters and her family to Canada. We don’t know when or if we will all be together again. We are learning to cherish each and every moment we have together. I’m so thankful for that time.

While in Germany, we were also able to get a few much needed wheelchairs and walkers to distribute.

We then headed to Poland to get humanitarian aid. Our friends from our hometown, Samantha and Dasha, met us there with our big van. We went to a city where our friends and ministry partners from our hometown are currently living. They have been there the past few months and have made connections at the local church. They told the pastors about the work we are doing and they decided they would like to help out! They bought enough supplies to fill about 1/4 of our big bus! That was a big blessing.

It is always encouraging for us and those we visit abroad. Everyone is longing to go back home but understands it might not be time yet. Please pray for wisdom and guidance for these families to know what to do. It is hard to be living in limbo.

After that, we headed to a city closer to the border and were able to buy other needed items to completely fill the van. Thank you for your financial support and making that possible.

Big Picture

We want to share a bigger picture vision for the ministry we are currently doing and why it is so important.

When the war started, we prayed that God would guide and use us. People started contacting us with needs and telling us horrific stories of things they had gone through. A lot of them are still in very dangerous cities with little to no access to groceries and other necessities. Thankfully, the postal services continue to work and we started sending these families packages. It started from about 30-50 packages per week. Now, we are getting more than 300 requests per week and the numbers keep going up. We try to send off as many as possible but we aren’t always able to accommodate that many people.

In these packages, we give the most essential items. Food, laundry detergent/dish soap, personal hygiene items, a Bible and something sweet for each family. If there are kids in the family, we give a toy for each child. Other times, people have specific requests like blankets, towels, pillows, pots, pans..etc. If we are able, we try to pack those items as well.

Each package weighs roughly 30 pounds and costs between $35-$50, depending on the amount of people in each family.

A lot of weeks, we think it will be our last after running out of aid. But up until now, God continues to provide and has worked so many miracles in order for us to keep going. We don’t know how much longer we will be able to sustain this mission but we will continue as long as God provides.

You have been a big reason we have been able to continue this ministry. We are so thankful for you. God is doing so much through you in the lives of our people. Every prayer and every cent is felt and appreciated.

Thank you to all who donated and helped pack two PODS. Thank you Andrey Romanov and Connect International for providing the PODS. One is already on the way and the other will be sent off soon. I saw God’s love through each and everyone one of you that helped us, and the people of Ukraine. We are so grateful.

Please pray

For Ukraine. Please don’t forget about our country. Please continue praying for peace in Ukraine. Pray for wisdom from the Lord and strength to continue on.

Pray for financial provision to be able to continue meeting the needs of our people.

Pray for our daughter and her husband. She has been with us since the war started and she has been such a blessing. Her husband has been so supportive. Pray that God would bless their family.

Thank you again for all you have and are doing for Ukraine. May God bless each and every one of you.

With much love,

Peter and Irina Tkachuk
